Sony VAD-WE Adaptor Ring for Sony VCL-D0746 & VCL-D2046 Conversion Lenses

I recently purchased the VAD-WE Lens Adaptor for my Sony Cybershot DSC W150. If you're interested in purchasing the additional lenses you'll have to buy this to attach them. I've seen many of these adaptors for other cameras appear as bulky and not looking very nicely on the camera it's attached to. Well, the construction is primarily plastic and the clear bottom part fits nicely onto the bottom of the camera. On the bottom of the adaptor there is a screw that fits conveniently into the tripod mount of the camera. However, on the bottom of the screw there is another screw in mount that the tripod can be inserted into, so you don't lose the ability to mount the camera on a tripod.

The additional lenses (I have both the Sony VCL-D2046 46mm Tele Conversion Lens (x2.0) for Sony W170, W150, W130, & W120 Digital Cameras and Sony VCL-D0746 46mm Wide Conversion Lens (x0.75) for Sony W170, W150, W130, & W120 Digital Cameras) screw on the end of the adaptor smoothly and definitely feel secure once they're locked into place. The actual ring does seem a little bulky, but I suppose that's necessary because the extra lenses are quite heavy.

The only problem I have is that the adaptor does partially block the optical viewfinder, but even if the adaptor didn't, the additional lenses would, so this isn't that big of a deal. The optical viewfinder is something you have to give up if you're using the adaptor and lenses with this camera.

Overall, I'm satisfied with the adaptor and am glad that it is not as bulky or attaches in some snap-on fashion as other adaptors I've seen for other camera models. I am planning on writing reviews for the lenses in their respective pages as well. I looked around for reviews of this product and the lenses and could not find anything, so I decided to purchase the item and find out first hand. I hope this review helps others in making a more informed decision on purchasing the product.
