Flip Camera USB Cord (Cables for Flip Camcorder)
[ Posted: 2008-11-12 ]
These are durable, good quality USB cables in eyepleasing colors. They are easy on the pocketbook and work as well as any cable you would buy in a high-end electronics store. These great cables should be your first choice if you needs extras or a relacement!
Connectors don't fit!

I really wanted to like these cables, and I probably would if they actually fit. After realizing almost immediately how tight they were, I was afraid to plug one into my computer. I was finally able to get one to work by using some fine grit sandpaper to "adjust" the ends. It was painful, and who has that kind of time? Don't get these - there are better, cheaper options available.
Complete rip-off

These USB cords are a complete rip-off. Sure they work 100 percent the way they are supposed to but why are we forced to pay 15 dollars to have a reasonable method to hook the mino up to a computer? Sure you don't actually need this item/s, but without it, your mino will hang from the computer and probably eventually snap off and break. No thanks. So i'm forced to buy this multi color package, which i don't even want 3.. why in the world would i need 3? 2 of them are short and don't let the mino rest on the table but the 3rd is the longer one and will allow a normal hook up. I should have paid 5 dollars for 1...not 3. pointless. no wait, i shouldn't have paid anything, they should have included a usb cord with the actual product. greedy corporations strike again. awesome camera, overpriced assessories.
A Poor Design = Bad Quality Control

I had the fortune of receiving this item as "free bonus" when purchasing my Flip Video Ultra Series Camcorder (from another retailer) so I can't complain about my experience too much, but here is what I can tell you:
The Flip Video Camcorder's USB arm is supposed to plug into one end of the USB cable while the end plugs into a USB port on your computer.
The good news is that the USB cable fits perfectly into the USB port of the computer.
The bad news is to get the USB arm from the camcorder into any of the included USB Cables you have to struggle a bit. The same goes for removing the USB arm from the USB cable. It feels like eventually the USB arm will break off the camcorder.
The three (3) included USB cables are really multi-purpose. You can use them to extend any USB cable, but again you will struggle to plug in your device to the female end of the cable.
Because of the problems you are likely to encounter with the poor design, I am giving this only 2 Stars.

Glad I bought them

I am hooking up my flip to a tower so I needed a USB so it would not hang. I do believe they are too tight but they do loosen up over time. I hold the USB firmly and rock it back and forth while pulling and it will come apart from the flip. I have never had a problem with it disconnecting from my computer. There are three sizes so no matter where your USB plug is the Flip shouldn't be hanging off of your tower. My daughter has a bunch of pink for her computer so I gave her the pink USB with no complaints.
True the company could have put a USB in with the flip but I am not bothered by it.
So I give this product 4 stars because of the tightness.
