I hate this printer!

It's fast, clean, and it's not a terrible cartridge-eater (like my Canons have been). That's what is good about this printer. It grabs blank pages all the time, no matter what paper is used (perhaps because it's so aggressively fast), it is temperamental, oversized, accessing and changing the paper tray is more hassle than it should be, and I probably shouldn't dislike it as much as I do, but I just hate it.
A good printer for the office

I have used this printer for more than one year. It works perfectly. I have printed hundreds, may-be thousands, of pages and have experienced only one paper jam. Colors are may-be not perfect for pictures, but for office work it's OK. Caution : don't replace the cartridges when the red led lights. It's only to warn you that you should buy a replacement ink cartridge. Only replace the cartridge when the led flashes, and that the printer refuses to print (can be months later...).
DO NOT BUY HP Pro K550

Having been an owner of an 890, two 895's and one 990, I saw no problem with buying this as those 4 were service free-3 still are in use.
I was wrong.
Within 3 weeks it started printed blank pages and then jamming.
Unit replaced with a refurb. 9 months later the same problem.
Without wasting your time and more of mine, I have spent 4.5 hours in 4 phone calls trying to get it addressed. Currently, HP is to send another unit after having replaced the print heads which they thought it might be.
Service reps are generally friendly and incompetent although most do not have a good command of English.
Customer service is limited to rigid rules that are not friendly to the customer.
As to print quality it is good, when working.
In closing, if you wish to buy one of these recall what Clint said, "Are you feeling lucky"?
Addendum. One week has passed and I received a replacement-a different model. I called HP, (yep another 35 minutes repeating myself)and was finally told they had no more. I asked why I was not notified about this BEFORE it was shipped. This question was not in the tech's flow chart of questions so he said a level 2 cust serv rep would call in 24-48 hours.
Terrible customer service.
Stay away from this money-eating piece of junk!

This printer does not work.
I have spent over 2 hours on the phone, both times to get replacements for printing heads. This was after little to no use of this printer, mere months after buying it.
Then, this thing will empty your ink cartridges whether you use them or not. I have printed 3 color pictures only, and always select to print in low-quality, black only. Yet, I now have to replace ALL 4 cartridges (80$ total) for the SECOND time because this thing thought my black text needed more cyan and yellow in it.
I am so sick and tired of this thing. It has cost me over 200$ in ink alone, for 100 pages of low-quality text.
Also, the firmware upgrade program crashed and my printer can't even work at all anymore.
I am never buying HP again.
HP Officejet Pro K550 printer- Major Dissapointment

My experience with this printer pretty much mirrors the experiences of the other negative reviews. My major complaint is that it will misprint on 2-3 sheets of paper instead of one. When printing Quickbboks checks, instead of putting several checks in the tray, I have to feed one check at a time. I've downloaded driver updates with no success. Save your money and buy another brand of printer.
