I hate this strap.

Nearly dropped my camera countless times with this useless thing. I don't understand why they sent this with such an expensive product.
Does It's Job

After installing this strap as stated in the D80 user manual there is not possible for the camera to fall off the straps (unless you cut it or undo it). It is easy to install improperly. Make sure to follow the directions exactly.
Do not use this strap!!!

The first time I used my new D40 with this strap the camera almost went tumbling onto the concrete, and I had only been walking for about 5 minutes. Luckily I caught the strap right before the camera hit the ground. It has flexible plastic 'clips' that easily slide causing the strap to come loose. Once again, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, do not use this strap!
This strap is dangerous to your camera's health

This strap came with my Nikon D80 and I dutifully installed it. The first weekend I was using the camera, I went to grab the camera by the strap and was horrified to learn that the strap came loose and see my brand new 1000.00 camera crash to the ground from a height of about 4 feet. Fortunately, Nikon makes better cameras than they do straps because the camera was undamaged (though scratched up a bit). I was very fortunate because the sky filter that was "protecting" the lens shattered leaving shards of glass over the zoom lense. Luckily I was able to carefully clean the lens without harm to myself or the camera.
If you are going to invest over 1000.00 on a camera, I would suggest springing for a strap that actually has metal clips. Also, Nikon sells a gadget bag specifically for their line of digital SLRs and believe that would be a good investment as well.
If I could, I would give this ZERO stars -- it is a liability!
