Good calculator, poor screen
[ Posted: 2008-09-19 ]
In terms of functions, button size, etc., this is a good calculator. I own another Casio calculator, a scientific version that looks very similar to this one. I really liked the screen on the scientific calculator, but do not like the screen on this one. There is not enough contrast and though it is adjustable, it can not be adjusted to get a light enough background with dark enough characters.
Execllent financial calculator!!

Fc-200 is very good for person who just start to learn business. You can find most financial formulates have been built in this calculator. So, you do not need to be very professional, and you can do professional calculate. Especially, you are not good at memerize financail formulates. The only cons is it contains too many functions. If you want to know how to use all of function, it will take you much time to learn. Now, I am a graduate student. There are still have many function I have not used. Therefore, this is the good calculater that you can trust.(ps: I had one calculater like the HP financial calculator. Now, I only use this one.)

Great Seller... but the product isn't so great. The calculator is confusing and hard to use...
Very limited calculator, useless for mortgage calculations
[ Posted: 2008-04-07 ]
This calculator is limited to a very basic set of functions. It has 12 modes, each of which lets you calculate a limited number of variables after the input of another set of variables.
The Amortization mode, for example, permits the calculation of only 5 variables: the remaining balance after payment x, the interest portion of payment x, the principle portion of payment x, and the interest and principle paid between payments x and y. Each of these variables requires input of the monthly payment. Stupidly, the calculator does not allow you to calculate the monthly payment itself (based on loan amount, term, and interest rate), and will not you let you calculate any of the other 5 variables without inputting the monthly payment amount first. This makes the calculator useless for most mortgage calculations.
Very Poor Text Display (Hard to Read)

I purchased this calculator for two reasons:
First Reason: I have regular Casio calculator (Casio FX-115ES.
I purchased one first. I like it so much that I purchased another in weeks. I thought that a Casio financial calculator would be as good.
Second Reason: Pretty impressive feedbacks from the users. I thought that a Casio financial calculator must be pretty good because of the impressive customer review, and purchased one.
Today I got the delivery of this Casio financial calculator, and
opened the box. The layout and cosmetic look were not the same as Casio FX-115ES. It looked very clumsy and the painting was so poor.
When I pressed "Bond" button, several lines of texts showed up.
Wow, I could not read it. The display was something that I could have seen 20 or 30 years ago.
My review may look a little too harsh.I am a pretty fair person.
I am standing by my review word by word.
This afternoon I talked with Amazon customer service to discuss the issue. The kind customer representative kindly told me that I may return it. Please try this Casio calculator at a local store before purchasing one.
