Unreliable and Frustrating
[ Posted: 2008-10-11 ]
I've owned this printer for two years and bought it because of success with prior epson products. I've had nothing but trouble with this printer. It regularly needs nozzle cleaning, which then reduces your available ink, loses alignment and the ink sporadically runs. I've wasted a lot of time and $ on this product between ink and photo paper. Another annoying aspect of this printer is the constant pop-ups and reminders to use epson ink. My epson purchases go back to a word processer in '86. I've had so many problems with this printer, I will never buy epson again. Today I loaded two new epson print cartridges and blue is not working. This hunk of junk is going to the curb!
Needs to be used lots+get refillable cartridges

This has been an excellent printer for us for over three years, printing text, graphics and photos, about 1-200 pages per month. Go to inkmizer.com and get a set of their refillable cartridges and their inks and you'll find ink cost is trivial. Not super bright colours like Epson's, but fine for everyday home office and school use. Follow their instructions exactly and you'll rarely have clogs. A quick head-clean deals with the odd problem. No, I'm not the owner, just a very happy customer!
this printer sucks money.....

This printers nozzles get clogged so often I'm surprised anyone likes it.
I read some of the other reviews......and I never did try the print something every day or else the nozzles get clogged....
but if you're just a casual printer this is NOT the printer for you.
(nor would it be if you were business printing)
I could've long ago purchased a nicer printer with all the money I've had to spend endlessly replacing these cartridges. If you're looking at this printer...I say DON"T. It's way too expensive to maintain.
Just Terrible - Avoid

I originally bought this printer because it had good reviews on printing colors - plus I liked the fact that you could change individual colors. After only a year it stopped working like many others here. The ink was terribly expensive. I went back to a HP.
built in obsolescence

It seems like this product has a built-in failure rate, just after the warranty expires. This has happened to me twice with this model and I will never buy another Epson product again.
