The main feature of the Finecam L4v is its new "DayFine" 2.5-inch LCD. Compared to typical digital camera LCDs, it's like having Home Theater in your digital camera! The "Dayfine" LCD is manufactured by Kyocera to surpass the performance currently available in any competitive model. The "Dual Backlight" design incorporates a newly developed special optical film to increase the transmission of light from the LCD. In addition, ambient light is used to increase the intensity of the image displayed on the LCD. This increases the brilliance and contrast even under the brightest outdoor conditions. The Finecam L4v is packed with a wide assortment of features that allow the user to create amazing pictures. A recorded message, up to 30 seconds in length, can be attached to each image with this very exciting feature. Additionally, an AVI movie mode gives users the option of recording a movie with sound, up to 120 seconds. The movie can be played back on the camera's large LCD monitor, a computer monitor or a home television.A customized start-up screen is one more sophisticated feature found on the L4v digital camera. Similar to a desktop, the user can view their favorite image when the camera is first turned on. Further, the camera boasts a built-in Image Resizing Mode (IRM), a flexible feature that allows the user to keep their original image while resizing the same image into a separate folder for easy e-mailing to family and friends.

Very Good

I have owned a Kyocera L4V for 2 years now. I am very pleased with the camera's quality. It's not the best camera out there, but it certainly is perfect for beginners-intermediate users.

I noticed that some reviewers have complained about the battery life. Well I have to say that from my 2 years experience, my batteries last me an average of 2 months- and I take pictures regularly. The key is not to leave the thing on for long spans of time. I buy my batteries at the local supermarket for about $8.00 (Duracel or Energizer). You can find the original charger on http://www.kyoceraimaging.com/prodacc.asp?itemnum=300200.

The picture quality is very good. You might have to play a little with the easy to use settings to make them perfect, but for point&shooting functioning it is not bad at all.

The zoom is also great, and lets you capture photos of things that are far, far away.

4.0 MP is a lot!!! I have it set up for use at about 2.0 MP (which shows real well on full screen and works for prints up to 8x10) and I get about 180 pictures on a 64mb card.

Overall I have to say that I recommend this to any one who is searching for a GOOD QUALITY, EASY TO USE, VALUE CAMERA...

Absolute piece of garbage - 15 min battery life maximum.

Unless you have the DC adapter and a very long extension cord, I'd recommend staying away from this camera. You'll be lucky to get more than 15 minutes of use out of this camera when running on battery power, and that's with brand new batteries. There have been too many special moments that I have not been able to capture because the battery in this camera didn't last long enough to snap a single picture. What good is a camera without power? I can't even begin to express my level of frustration with this camera. I can't even sell it to someone else and keep a clear conscience. I'd recommend saving a few extra dollars and buying a Cannon or Nikon, instead of wasting money on a product that you can't rely on.

After I purchased this item I found that the battery is not rechargeable and you have to buy a new one at a cost of $45.00. This is very bad as the battery does not last that long...Other than that the camera seems to be great...

non-techno review

We've only had this camera for a few days and we are thrilled with it. I say "only" because we can't review the battery life yet. It is so lightweight it is incredible. The resolution is great and the lcd screen is wonderful. The manual is written for techno dummies like us and so far we haven't had a problem downloading the pictures to our PC (we have windows xp home edition) and erasing the pictures from the card. Our cell phone is a Kyocera and we figured, "what the heck? If the phone works as well as the camera, we should be ok". OK is an understatement. If you are not professional photographers, we recommend this product.
