Description
SPECO TECHNOLOGIES CVC-340LC, 1/3 CCD B/W CAMERA AND OUTDOOR LI
The Pro Video CVC-340LC B/W Outdoor Motion Sensor Security with Lights and Bronze Housing is a high-quality surveillance camera that can be "hidden" in plain view. Easily installed and integrated into any Pro Video surveillance system, this weatherproof camera is hidden inside a fully functional outdoor flood-style light fixture. With a built-in motion sensor providing control, the lights perform the dual function of lighting up the cameras viewing area and startling any ill-intentioned individuals. Designed for clandestine applications, the Pro Video CVC-340LC has a high resolution that makes it well-suited to discreet security surveillance of any area outside your home or office.
This camera utilizes a 0.33-inch black-and-white CCD (charge-coupled device) image sensor with a 3.6-millimeter wide-angle lens, and provides 512 by 492 effective picture elements. The Pro Video CVC-340LC has a high resolution of 420 horizontal TVL (TV lines), is extremely sensitive to light with a minimum illumination of 0.02 Lux, and achieves a S/N (signal-to-noise) ratio of 46 dB or better. The Pro Video CVC-340LC uses the EIA (Electronics Industries Association) scanning system, and includes a standard RCA video output with a BNC (Bayonet Neill-Concelman) adapter. This unit runs on 12-volts DC power, and can operate in temperatures ranging from -14 to 122 degrees Fahrenheit. Including motion sensor-controlled lights and a 0.5-inch threaded mount that is compatible with standard electrical boxes, the CVC-340LC comes complete with a built-in automatic electronic shutter with speeds ranging from 1/60 to 1/100,000 of a second.

About Surveillance Camera Technical Features
Lux rating is the measurement used to indicate how sensitive a camera is to light, and stands for the level of light reflected off a piece of paper by a candle from one meter away. Thus a sensitivity of three Lux would mean a camera could generate an acceptable picture of a piece-of-paper-sized object that was illuminated by the equivalent of three candles from one meter away. The lower the Lux level, the better the camera's ability to work in low-light conditions. The camera's resolution should be greater than or equal to the resolution supported by the system's recorder or monitor. The S/N, or signal to noise ratio, is an important measure of a camera's quality. A poor camera, low-light conditions or poor wiring causes "noise" which consumes processing power and disk space. A camera with a wide dynamic range is ideal, especially for recording areas in which both indoor and outdoor light are present. CCD (charge-coupled device) sensors provide high-quality images that are less susceptible to noise. CMOS (complimentary metal-oxide semiconductor) sensors offer less image quality, but are usually more cost-effective and energy efficient.
