Nikon Zoom 10x22
[ Posted: 2008-08-20 ]
I have used Nikon binoculars in 8x40 and 10x50 and these are excellent for glassing while hunting. I liked the idea of having a zoom feature so as to examine subjects in more detail when necessary, but zoom binoculars don't have a great reputation from what I have read. I purchased the 10-22x50 with some apprehension and am I ever glad I did. The optics are fantastic at 10 power with no distortion and are a pleasure to look through. There appears to be some bluriness when zooming up to 22x requiring some diopter readjustment. I was never 100% satisfied with the focus at 22x, but I would strongly recommend this binocular to anyone who requires a zoom binocular. I found that I could view subjects offhand at 22x, but I will primarily use this power with some support as it is difficult to steady. I am extremely satisfied with this binocular and can honestly say that the zoom feature and additional magnifaction have greatly enhanced my viewing experience.

Not what I expected from NIKON.. The Zoom only works good to about 3 to 4 hundred yards, after that it is blurry & hard to focus. also the zoom lever is not what you would expect from Nikon, it has a very fragil feelin to it. I would have been better to buy it without the ZOOM. If not for the Zoom it is a good binocular, for the price.

Great binoculars. The zoom is perfect for sporting and field events. A little heavier than I had anticipated but still easy to support. Get a tripod if you need to view for extended periods of time.
Strong lens but blurry and heavy

The lens are powerful but are somewhat blurry. Also, this is quite heavy and not for prolonged use.
Amazing

I got these binoculars and the image was clear and crisp. I was very impressed with the zoom distance, and still being so clear. This is a top of the line binocular and very worth the price.
The binoculars come with a carrying case, protective lens covers, and a strap. These are easy to use, but a tripod is recommended.
